Life is Weird

I find it interesting that the weirdest things make me cry.

I was brought around in the last hour to the thought of the end of a world- not THE world, perhaps, but A world. As usual, it was a fanfic that brought these thoughts to the fore.

There are myriad worlds within the one that we live. Each one is as important as the next, but too many of them are ended because of petty reasons; fear, anger, hatred, love, hope.

Yes, not only did I point out the bad ends of the emotional rainbow, but the very best. How many people have lost something irrevocably important because of feelings? How many ruined their own life, destroyed their own world, by doing or not doing something?

THe worst things in THE world are sympathy, hatred, and even simple uncaring. I know you're probably wondering where these thoughts are going, and why I'm naming these as the worst. Sympathy can help, no doubt about that, but too much sympathy and suddenly, when the time comes to take action, you refuse because of the sympathy for the people or things you are forced to destroy, you end up losing something of yourself.

Hatred id the backbone of what THE world at large calls evil, but it is in all of us. All of us feel hatred in varying degrees at some point within their life. It causes wars, famine, disease (for how much does science REALLY know about the cause of disease, and why it happens?) and countless deaths. Countless worlds that were utterly important, if only to one person.

Simply not caring does almost the same as hatred. 'It doesn't involve me, why should i bother?' 'They aren't important because no one cares about them.' Well, the fact of the matter is, SOMEONE cares, or else why would they be in THE world at all? Someone cares about that world, for it to exist. By pulling the apathy card, you are condemning ALL worlds to death, and destruction.

Yet love, and hope can destroy as easily as the darker emotions. If you love too much, you twist a world that should have ended into something less than it was, make it into a mockery. If someone is to die, a building destroyed, then there must be a reason. THat does not mean that you are meant to cause its end, or that you are not to interfere. Do everything in your power to HELP. But HELP does not mean keeping a person alive far beyond their desire or ability. HELP does not mean protecting something to the exclusion of all else.

Hope is not in itself bad. But hope BY itself is. If you see something coming on the horizon, you cannot just HOPE for it to not come, to NOT happen. You must act, you have to TRY. Hope alone is condemning something that can be saved to a slow and painful death. It might not be a physical death, but it's there all the same. Something lost, that can never be brought back. The losing is not the problem; it's HOW it was lost. If you try and fail, at least you have the knowledge that you TRIED. if it does not end, so much the better, for you were able to bring about a favorable outcome.

And wow i have no idea what this has turned out to be. I'm going to go cry.
