So this weekend was a BLAST!!! I didn't get a wink of sleep but it was worth it! So this is how my week went down:
Thursday afternoon I was rushing around trying to find ruby slippers. I came up empty so had to rush back to my apartment and get ready in a rush for the Meet Your Buddy dinner. Connor picked me up and we headed up north. The food was AWESOME!!! I loved it and though my buddy didn't show up, I actually got to sit and talk to some of the players and they turned out to be really friendly and nice. I was totally impressed and had a great time with everyone!
Connor dropped me back off here and I almost immediately turned around and went over to West Campus to meet up with Kelly. It was her 21st birthday and her boyfriend drove in from Houston for the occasion. Her old roomie and one of their high school friends also came with us. We rode the ebus down there (and I saw an old high school classmate on there but neglected to say hi). We started off at the Aquarium, then the Soho Lounge, and finished off at Logan's. Logan's is where we had the most fun. Huy and Chance started saying it was Brandi's birthday so she could get the kisses and handshakes instead of Kelly. We had a blast and then at two we left (obviously). The ebus ride back was very entertaining. Chance and Huy kept yelling "TEXAS! FIGHT! OU/TECH/OSU/USC! SUCKS!" and sang happy birthday to Kelly. After spending a little time at her apartment, we decided it was Kerby Lane time. So the five of us spent about an hour and a half there. We talked about tv shows from our youth and Huy had us all gasping for air when he did his Noah from The Notebook impression. I made it back to my apartment after 5:30. Nuts, huh?
Friday I skipped class (BAD ALEX!). I went down to Lucy in Disguise but they didn't have ruby slippers. I ended up buying some high heels at Shoe Carnival and didn't realize until way later that night that they were too big! I went to work and things are still up in the air. I went home and took a brief nap before I put my Dorothy costume on. I LOVE IT!!! My mom is so awesome :D So after trying several ways to wear ruby slippers, I had to settle for my black dance shoes. :( I was pretty sad... especially when I went to the baseball players' party and there was another Dorothy with a Toto and ruby slippers. I went with Kelly, Chance, and Huy. Oh yeah, and I was feeling so popular. Shera and Meghan were trying to get ahold of me at the same time Amy was (to tell me she talked to B. Rose and is going to dress up as him for Halloween! I LOVE IT!). I even talked to Daniel (my former love) and Moby (ha! another former love. Moby contacted me recently asking for forgiveness and wanting to hang out again. I'm hopeful but cautious. So he called and I got to talk to Daniel and Moby for a good while which just made my night!). We only stayed at the party for about an hour before we decided to cut loose and go downtown.
Downtown was great. Not that many people were in costumes but we got a ton of compliments (fyi, Chance was a woman viking. His cone boobs were being felt up alllll night!). We hung out at the Library and it was my night to be 21. Chance and Huy kept calling guys over to wish me a happy birthday. They called this suuuuuper cute guy named Josh over and he even bought me a drink! Can you believe it? And what did I do? I didn't even get his number (though the truth would have to be revealed that I'm 22 and been drunk a lot more than once!) so I am still beating myself up about that one. Kelly and I got another free drink from a guy visiting from Florida who thought it was my birthday. So many people stopped to compliment our costumes and one guy walking down Sixth stopped and said "I'M FROM KANSAS!!!" It was such a great time.
I somehow made it through the ten hours at work and went home to crash. Mom had found some shoes and glitter and made my ruby slippers. Seriously, I'm the most spoiled child there is when it comes to Halloween costumes. I'm very blessed!!! :D I napped and woke up to find myself in a bizarro world where OSU was beating Texas. Thankfully I found my way out of the Twilight Zone and we were able to win (as did Michigan). I got ready and I was sent down the Yellow Brick Road to the party out in Jonestown with my coworkers. It was so much fun! I took a straight shot of vodka... yeah that was not fun. But I love hanging out with my coworkers so I got to talk to everyone and just have a blast. There was a bonfire which was neat and I ended up staying there til 4.
Today I had to get up and go down to the Erwin Center to help with Longhorn Halloween. The kids were just arriving as I was leaving and I'm sorry I didn't get to see the kids more. From what I saw, they were all so super cute!!! I really want to go out tomorrow but I don't think that's going to happen. :( So I'm a zombie but I don't even care. It was the best Halloween weekend EVER! :D
