We're moving! We are getting a great deal to rent a house near the Robinson/Berry area and we move some time this month. It's a whole house! No sharing walls with noisy dudes on all sides, no more having to ask my neighbor to turn the heat up or down (the thermostat is in #3's apartment, the pilot light to the heater and the breaker box are in #4's apartment, and we have the water heaters, which you would think guarantees preference when using hot water, but no, when anybody uses any water temperature, i get an ice shower). No more not having a close parking spot. The baby will get her own room, i'll get to paint the walls whatever color i want, Shane gets to garden, and best of all, NO MORE SLANTY SHANTY! I may get to put some of my sculptures out! Here if you step too hard, the whole place shakes. There is a place in the kitchen where i can stand next to Shane and be taller than he is! He's 6'2" and i'm only 5'6"! There's an 8-inch hill in my kitchen. I'm done listening to my neighbors fuck, or play guitar hero, or talk to their girlfriends on the phone, or fire up their loud-ass cars right next to Anna's bed. I will miss my neighbors though, i like all of them but one (for some reason i never like the person who lives to the south). They are very nice guys, i'm just sick of hearing them. Weee! So i'm packing. Again. Hooray.
Also, we got a "new" vehicle. It's an 89 Jeep Cherokee, which is older than my truck, but it's also faring better then my truck. Poor truck. She needs lovin' and i just don't have the time to give it to her. Well, i have the time, just not the freedom. Miss Anna would be a terrible handful if i were otherwise occupied by a big greasy machine. After 20 minutes, she'd have grease on her, her toys, her pacifier, and she'd be hollering at me to just quit it already. We are super happy about the Jeep, though the baby is mad she can't see me when we're driving anymore. Babies need a back seat to be in, young lady! We like to each have our own seat. Woot!
Also also, i'm getting a job. One i am waiting for them to send me a form to fill out for a background check, and the other doesn't start until January, so i'm training for it now. Both are temporary, but they let me have my early hours and both have the option for hiring.
We're looking to get some things for the baby now that she'll have her own room. I'd like to get an actual crib and a dresser or changing table. The pack and play was great, but the bassinet part is getting saggy in the middle and she's nearly too heavy for the changing table part of it. I doubt my ability to successfully lower a sleeping baby onto the floor of the pack and play without freaking her out. I know Shane can't put her to bed at all without jarring the poor thing in some way. So we're looking for something used of course, if you see one or know somebody who wants to get rid of one, we'd appreciate it if you let us know :) It doesn't have to be free, but i'd like it to not cost anything near a new one (or why would i get it used?)
Miss Anna is quite a chunk! She can roll all the way over, sit alone but not without being sat (though she is working on doing it alone), and is working on crawling. So far she can push herself backward across the floor and turn in some way (i don't know what she's doing to turn, it never happens when i'm looking right at her). She can put a spoon the right way into her mouth and really digs solids so far. I'll post pictures soon :)
Now to attend to the horrible sound my computer just started making!
