What a crazy week in sports for Minnesota! Aside from last Saturday Minnesota sports has been doing pretty well! The Vikings beat the Packers on Monday to obtain their 4-0 record. The Twins made the playoffs on Tuesday night with their win over the Tigers and the TC Marathon drew a large crowd (as usual) on Sunday. The only dark cloud on this weekends sports was the Saturday football game between the Gophers & Badgers…ugh the axe has been in Wisconsin for six years!!! This is unacceptable!
Outside of the sports world, Amanda and I are doing well. She continues to study day and night for Law School and I continue to work and catch up on some much needed TV/computer gaming J In all seriousness, Amanda and I are doing great. We (along with Mr. Waller) went to Oktoberfest on Saturday at Gasthof zur Gemutlichkeit! We had a lot of fun, though there were a ton of people there…almost too many this year. Amanda and I had a brat and a GIANT pretzel which were very good, as usual! Dan and I also went to see “Surrogates” last Wednesday - it was a pretty good movie, not the best, but good. It is a very neat concept for a futuristic movie, but the cast & writing could have been a little better. I am looking forward to “Zombieland” - hopefully a Mr. Waller will be able to see it sometime soon! Amanda and I are planning to go see “Couples Retreat” this weekend…it…looks…hilarious!
Amanda and I were only able to do a little Parade of Home perusing this year due to her busy schedule, but the homes that we did see were very nice. I cannot wait to get a house!
A couple of weekends ago we went to Dan’s condo warming party and had a blast! It was good to see Dan in is drunken state again…ahh the days of Catch Phrase with Tequila!
Stewie, Brian, and other guy playing Pictionary, Stewie is drawing, and guy is guessing:
Guy:
"IT’S A JACKAL! IT’S A JACKAL! IT LOOKS LIKE A JACKAL! JACKAL, JACKAL!"
Brian:
"TIME!"
Stewie:
"Gosh darn it! If it wasn’t right the first time, what made you think it would be right the next twenty?!"
What else is new...? Well, I am not sure if you all knew, but I started my next position at Honeywell. I now work in Honeywell Building Solutions (HBS) and we are a service business of Honeywell, specializing in the installation, maintenance and upgrading of building systems that keep workplaces and schools safe, comfortable and productive. We are the part of the business that installs our products, performs maintenance and upgrades old systems to make them more energy efficient, safer, etc. I really like my new job as it has better hours (not as hectic during month-end) and the people are great! Today we are having a pot luck for out President’s birthday…should be some good food…and CAKE!
Other than that, not a whole lot is new with me. Oh, I am hoping to make it out to Valleyscare this year, but we’ll see how that plays out. It is basically a converted Valleyfair with Halloween attractions. If I go I will be sure to take pictures and update LJ for all to see.
