"Next Room 101 Games is this Sunday Jan 22 at the Drake Hotel. Game registration at 7:30, games at 8:00 sharp. Games You Play Sitting Down = Board Games. Free Cheesies. Free Admission. www.room101games.com"
Such a weird concept, but it actually *is* fun and enlightening. Ah, dear humans, how strange you are.
Last (and first) time I went to one of their events was with dear Karen. We had a lot of fun interacting with the Game Nazi, who had some serious and very real issues with people disobeying/ignoring/bending/just plain forgetting the rules of the game. And he kept apologizing about being anal, but we could see he didn't mean it. And there were middle aged people who had no idea what was going on, but were good hearted. The rest were boring. I spent the evening imagining I had some connection with the man in charge of the evening. Perhaps because he has a Slavic sounding first name. I felt like he was sending me vibes telling me that I should join his band and become his protégée. Teehee. Minds are funny things.
Oh, and they're lying about the 8:00 pm sharp. Last time, it was clearly indicated on the schedule next to the registration sheet that they were starting at 8:07.
