HIGH LIFE - No kinglish please

Look who has gone impressively media savvy. No, I am not talking about Aamir Khan. If he or the media were savvy, they would know when to stop. I am not even talking about Salman Khan. If only this guy could use the media right he wouldn’t get into the messes he does. Maybe he should take a cue from brother Arbaaz Khan who knows how to make news out of nothing at all. Or at that, even Sohail who walks around at parties like he is THE Khan. Saw him a few days ago dancing atop a couch surrounded by his chamchas. Occasionally, he would wave out to people who he thought were worthy of his attention. Anyways, let’s move onto the real ‘mover and shaker’. I meant to talk about Akshay Kumar. He knows what to say and what to do. But why doesn’t he pass on the same wisdom to the people in charge of his publicity as well? Currently, Akki is generously passing around his sexy pics that are part of a brand endorsement campaign. I love his zeal. He has been personally asking the media how they will display the pictures or use his interviews to promote the brand. If only he had spent a few seconds reading the shoddy press release. It was full of grammatical errors and toota phoota English. I have sent him a text message about the same. Hope he replies himself and does not have his PROs send me a text in broken angrezi. .

Zoom Barabar Zoom
Party throwing has become serious dhanda for some people these days. My colleague Omar Qureshi and me have been working on Zoom’s big bash this Thursday night. The key ingredient for a party is clearly the guest list. And we couldn’t help discussing how people have made a living out of selling party lists and even inviting guests. Not for us this business; we are only doing it because we work for the channel. So get set guys, and keep waiting for the courier man to come and ring your doorbell. Zoom is going glam with this party. However, we have tried to concentrate more on the showbiz guys and suburbanites this time. So if you have been left out, we promise to make up for it next time. Until then just be content watching the party and your friends on Zoom.

People of the week
Pradeep Hirani. The fashion entrepreneur is the only Indian buyer to be invited to the London Fashion Week two years in a row. Rock on dude; show the English some Hinglish fashion. Madhur Bhandarkar is also happening this week. Everywhere he goes he says people run for cover. They are scared he may reveal their secret gay streaks in his upcoming Fashion. “I feel like Simi Chandoke now when I go for
being flooded with film offers after styling for Fashion. “I am saying “no” right now, I will need a break after this,” says she. In fact, Hollywood is already calling this Czarina of hi fashion. Don’t be surprised if you here an announcement soon here, or exclusively on Zoom.
