Thirteen long ballot measures
Thick paper pamphlet
A few weeks ago, I had been looking for a site that would keep me updated about each House and Senate race, but also take all races into account as it did a statistical assessment. I found
Larry Sabato's Crystal Ball. It was exactly what I was looking for. Sabato's 2004 projections had a 99.2% accuracy rate. Dasre I even hope we take back the House? Dare I hope that, if we do, Nancy Pelosi will be able to cross over the aisle and put together some bipartisan, practical measures such as tort reform (including
these ideas), or a broad policy measure to reduce unwanted pregnancies, including education (minus the abstinence-only part) and birth control. How about some increases in stem cell federal research funding? Any measure has to be veto-proof, but it could be possible to do that if Pelosi is smart and we don't focus on impeachment or constant hearings.
The election is one week and a day away. And my new polling place is at an elementary school. I guess we'll see how I cope being in an auditorium with little kids all day long. My systems person (read: husband) may mutiny after this go 'round.
