The Show Favorite Episode: The Breaking Point Favorite Character(s): Major Winters, Captain Speirs, Lipton, Luz, Perconte, Guarnere, and Malarkey Least Favorite Character(s): Foxhole Norman <--had too many military leaders like this Contributions to fandom?: fanfic, icons Who do you ship?: no one A quotation you like from the show?: Favorite E-Company book?: "Brothers in Battle, Best of Friends" by Guarnere and Heffron. Easy Boy you'd most like to get to know?: Winters, because when I went into the Civil Air Patrol and the Air Force, he was my role model for how a leader/follower should act. He still is. ♥ Anything else?: I love WWII aircraft, especially the fighters. I'm also writing original WWII stories and somewhat rp a Luftwaffe pilot who finds his way into many fandoms. Anything other than that, yeah, this:
OH MY GOD RAT PATROL!!! I'm going to friend you just because of that, but you've got Hogan's Heroes up there too and write your own WWII stuff! You seem pretty damn cool to me.
AHHHH Dietrich icon use! Definite add! You officially rock!
Yes, I just finished watching an episode! "The Decoy Raid"! Who's your favourite character?
Oh yes, I love "Black Sheep Squadron" as well! I'm really into WWII (thanks to the males in my family) but somehow I developed a love for tanks all on my own, and so that's why I really took to "The Rat Patrol". ~
:D And Schultz! Poor, poor Klink *pats him*. Though I like watching HH through the crazy!idea!lense of 'well, what if Klink was really sabatoguing his own cause at every turn and only pretending to be that dense?'. It makes for interesting theories! Who's your favorite from Hogan's?
Dietrich! Though I love Troy and the boys, Dietrich's got the good-guy-in-a-horrible-situation going for him. Also, his 'Oh God Not Again' face is priceless. Favorite Eps (because that's what I thought it said before I re-read it) would have to be the Tug of War Raid, the Chain of Slash Death Raid and the one where they capture that german general who spends the entire episode trying to escape. I just loved that guy.
THE BLACK SHEEP SQUADRON! Oh lord I haven't seen that in ages and ages. My dad and I used to call it The Adventures of Pappy and Meatball XD
Tanks are awesome! And the ones in the RP are pretty cool, even if they do get blow up a bit much. That's part of the reason I love the show though, the wonderful, cheesy ridiculousness of the fights. What really got me into the show was Dietrich and the Chain of Death Raid, before that it seemed a lot like a Combat! remix in the dessert. I'm a big North Africa buff, so I would have watched it anyway but he made it special.
Yeah, I've heard from many people about this series on FF.net where Klink was pretending to be stupid so that he could protect Hogan in their adventure to aid the allies. I like the idea, in all honesty. My favourite characters are LeBeau, Newkirk, Kinch, and Schultz. How can you hate Schultz, right?
Dietrich and Moffit are my two favourite characters from the show. Sgt. Troy I had a hard time getting attached to and there just wasn't much about the others that was interesting. The only characters with character were Dietrich, Troy, and Moffit. Agreed! Dietrich's defeated face is adorable! I probably have more icons of that than his battle-ready face (the goggles are awesome on him, especially the bright green ones).
Yeah, I love Corsairs thanks to "Black Sheep Squadron"! It's such an amazing show! I should honestly watch it again, but I'm afraid of getting distracted from my North Africa/Eastern Front stories.
My first episode of "Rat Patrol" was actually the first episode of season 2, in which both sides come together to rescue the little girl who was down a well. It just amazed me at how compassionate that Dietrich was, which is so unlike anything that you saw of Germans being portrayed. I just knew he was going to be awesome. Then him standing up against the SS in "The Decoy Raid" was a definite win for me. I'm much in agreement with you, that Dietrich is an overall good-guy just fighting because he has no other option. It's clear that the SS disgust him and even his own command tries his patience and makes him question them. He's just... a mystery!
