Notes regarding my journal & friending policy:
01. This is a personal journal, but A LOT of my entries are centered around music: critiques, uploads, recommendations, artist news, lyrics, translations, and general babbling. Whatever catches my fancy. I tend to be really verbose about it as well.
02. While I listen to a wide range of artists, my main interests are ムック, Sel'm, DELUHI, meth., lynch., 音鬼, M, ONE OK ROCK, and THE BACK HORN. My favourite genres are angura, eroguro, and nagoya kei. Sadly, there are very few visual and oshare bands that have managed to catch my interest. I am also extremely critical of musicians, vocalists and bassists in particular. I'd also like to mention that I have an interest in the (mostly Korean) underground hip-hop/soul movements, and keep up with artists like Dok2, Simon Dominic, Dynamic Duo, Kensho Kuma, MC Kwokkin, TBNY, Basick, Kwon Kibum, Junggigo, The Quiett, and Double K. You will undoubtedly see a lot of discussion about hip-hop in my journal. As for more "popular" Korean artists, I do enjoy select works from Wheesung, 대국남아/大国男児, 인피니트/INFINITE, and 超新星.
03. I'll come right out and say it: I do not like/have no interest in Dir en grey, Antique Cafe, Miyavi, Gazette, alice nine, Gackt, and a whole bunch of other artists who have no semblance of vocal skill/talent. So sorry if they're on your list of favourite bands/artists, but if they can't sing, then they can't sing. It's not a matter of "taste" when the very fact is they haven't mastered basic techniques. It annoys the shit out of me when people can't tell the difference between talent and blatant preference. That being said, I'm probably what you would call a "music elitist" and "technique freak". And as far as hip-hop goes, I'm a "content freak". I appreciate artists with real lyrical ability, who have something to say with their music. This means if your knowledge of Korean "hip-hop" only extends to shitty commercialized artists like Big Bang, 2ne1, 1TYM, Crown J, and whatever else, you can kindly walk the hell away because we won't be seeing eye to eye.
04. I cosplay. I post photos of my cosplay. I babble about cosplay. A lot.
05. I cannot stand fangirl behavior and fawning over how someone looks. If you can't control yourself, don't add me.
06. I would appreciate it immensely if things that I post here STAY here. Meaning, don't distribute my CD/DVD rips to 40 million of your friends and favourite forums. What I share here is for you only, otherwise I'd be posting in a music sharing community. Also, it means that I would like not having to see my cosplay and personal photos plastered all over the web with people trying to role play me using my face. Identity theft is just disturbing and so pointless.
07. Please be courteous. I'm rather fond of people with a sense of decorum.
08. Please be aware that I have no patience for idiocy and ignorance. I have no respect for people who make completely uninformed and crass statements with the idea that they are completely in the right (and everyone else is completely in the wrong). It's fine to have an opinion, just have some substance, some actual reasoning for it. I will respect your right to exercise free speech; however, I feel no obligation to respect what you say. This translates to: I will correct you if/when I catch such things, don't take it too personally.
09. You should also know that I am strongly Atheist, a complete Humanist, pro-choice, pro-GLBTQI rights, pro-stem cell research, pro-scientific advancement, and overall extremely liberal. I won't lie; I can be pretty offensive in my humour regarding right-wing conservative stances on issues (or ...just kind of offensive in general). I'd like to point out that despite this, it is never my intention to force-feed my opinions unto others.
10. Do not just add me without an introduction/reason and expect me to add you back. Unless I fucking know you, it won't happen. Stop stalking my journal. It is disturbing. Also, do not add me just because I like jrock, because chances are I don't like any of the bands that you worship.
