[The communicator turns on but there's no sound, until of course there's a loud clatter as it falls to the floor, since Chopper is still shaking lightly. He bends down to pick it up and he swallows heavily, voice with a hint of worry and nervousness, like he's just seen a ghost or something.]

A lot of things have been happening. It's kind of hard, to be happy nowadays.

But, I'm helping build a ship, and I'm going to go sailing on the lake with a lot of people, and some of those people are friends of mine... though I don't know when we'll get the ship done. Hopefully soon. I think being able to sail again will be really fun.

It's kind of hard. This place can be really scary and creepy sometimes, but...

I-It will be! Even though we don't know what we'll find when we go, I think, it'll still be really fun!

Yeah. I'm supposed to be a demon lord, so I guess I should like that kinda stuff... but I really don't. I hate seeing people sad all the time.

What's sailing like? I don't even think I've seen an Ocean, ever.

You've never seen an ocean before? It's... well, it's kind of like if you had a lake, or a small pond, or somewhere with water. And you just make it a whole lot bigger. Really big. It's so big you can't even see land. It's just the ocean underneath you, and then there's the sky over it. Sailing is... really fun. It's hard to explain if you've never done it, but it's really fun. You get to have adventures, and explore, and meet lots of cool people.

Uh-huh, like a really huge lake. I wish we'd have enough room on the ship for you to come with us, but I don't think it'll be that big, since there isn't enough things to make a ship that big. But I'll tell you about what we find when I come back!

Okay! I don't know if I'd be good at sailing. Even if I had my chip out, dark magic can't be that helpful in a boat. I think maybe I could create a storm, if I knew how.

Demon Lords uh... kidnapp Princesses and trounce Knights, and stuff. I guess sometimes they get trounced by the Knight. Eclipse said that's only how they tell it in stories.

Oh! And I'm reallly good at dark magic.

Well, you could always learn. I didn't really know a lot about sailing before I became a pirate. [ And some of our crew back at home don't have any powers or are super strong like any of the others, but everyone helps somehow. But I don't think creating a storm would help. That would maybe make Nami mad.

...so does that mean there are princesses and knights where you're from? And... what kind of magic is "dark magic"?

Uh-huh. Princesses and Knights and Clerics and Elves and lotsa stuff this place doesn't have. Oh! And Dark Magic means you have 'dark attributes.' [Pause, because he barely understands that himself.]

Uhh... you can do stuff like 'dark arrow' and other attacks that destroy stuff. First you gotta gather magical energy!
