Title: The 20 facts you should know (but he would never admit them) about Yzak as a Lacus fanboy
Series: Gundam Seed universe
Rating: PG for some swearing
Summary: Hot-headed gundam pilot fanboy and his devotion to pop music idols

ONE

He never was a fan of pop music. Or pop music idols. Or pop music idols with pink hair.

And then, into his life, came Lacus Clyne.

TWO

Although he doesn’t do it in public, Yzak secretly calls Lacus Clyne ‘Lacus-sama’.

And if he were in a shoujo anime, he’d have pink sparkles and shoujo bubbles around him while saying it. But he wasn’t. And he was content with not having to disclose this vulnerable information to people who would humiliate him in the future.

THREE

To appease her son’s resentment for being unable to celebrate his 15th birthday with him, Ezaria Jule sent him a limited edition Lacus Clyne: A Concert for Peace DVD with limited edition Lacus Clyne photosets. It was also signed by the pop idol herself with a special birthday message just for him.

FOUR

He loved his mother’s connections. He called her as soon has he watched the DVD thirty times the whole night the next morning and was more than appeased. He promised to buy her that beautiful grandfather clock she always wanted.

FIVE

He swears to lynch anyone who called Lacus any derogatory term pertaining to anything female. Not only is he a fan, he also is an advocate of feminism.

SIX

He always thought Dearka was the first person who found out about this Lacus devotion. He didn’t know that he was just the third; Miguel Ayman and Nicol Amarfi were awfully good at hiding it from him. They were good at stifling their chuckles with exaggerated coughs as much as Dearka was, he couldn’t avoid riling Yzak about it. Rusty Mackenzie remained oblivious to it all... only for his own good of course. He’d seen a miffed and violent Yzak Jule to know.

SEVEN

He had a difficult time containing his bliss the first time he viewed a Lacus concert on television. A series of coughs were used to mask his clapping and skipping about so merrily, along with a series of denials and insults directed towards Dearka Elthman.

EIGHT

Yzak would never forgive himself (or Dearka… since he’s capable of spilling the beans with or without torture) if Athrun Zala found out about his devotion to the Pink Princess of Pop.

NINE

And when Dearka almost accidentally-on-purpose slipped this juicy blackmail material personal information (which was rather unnecessary to let everyone else be informed of) during a formal dinner with their squad leader Raww Le Klueze, he was awarded with a mighty jab on the ribs and a patented cold shoulder (and an even patented, rather colder glare) for a week.

TEN

Oh it was pretty obvious though. He was the only one in the team with Lacus pin-ups tacked all over his corkboard and locker door. And he wasn’t even the one engaged to her. Athrun knew Yzak had more pictures of his fiancée than he (Athrun) did.

ELEVEN

He first met Lacus Clyne during her engagement dinner with Athrun Zala. In the course of the whole celebration, all he ended up saying to her was ‘It’s an honor to finally meet you, Lacus Clyne-sam- san…’ followed by a snappy remark toward his fellow squad pilots Nicol, Miguel and Dearka for grinning at him ridiculously like that.

TWELVE

He was eternally grateful to Athrun, really, for introducing Lacus Clyne to him. Not that he’d have the audacity to tell him directly though.

THIRTEEN

Nicol played Shizukana Yoru ni on the piano for Yzak. No, no, no… not to his request of course, as he explicitly emphasized. But Nicol knew better and he obliged rather jovially to comply with his indirect appeal.

FOURTEEN

And just by recalling, he somewhat misses Nicol.

FIFTEEN

After Nicol’s death, Dearka presumably dead as well and Athrun leaving Zaft, he found out about the Clyne faction and felt more abandoned and unhappy than he anticipated himself to be. He questioned himself, ‘Why the hell am I against everyone?’ before heading to the Mendel colony feeling anything but focused.

SIXTEEN

The moment Shiho Hahnenfuss introduced herself (she whispered conspiratorially to him, going to the particulars) as a fellow Lacus-sama fan, he excused himself hastily to hide his crimson-shaded cheeks, sought Dearka who was pretending to sleep in his cabin and strangled him till he stopped roaring with laughter.

SEVENTEEN

Yzak Jule was beyond thrilled to inflict minor damage on his friend all in the name of dignity.

He means well whenever he physically assaults Dearka in the name of his not-so-secret-anymore fascination for Lacus Clyne. He regards the teen with utmost esteem as a Zaft soldier and as well as a human being.

He just doesn’t know WHEN TO SHUT UP ABOUT IT SO UNTIL HE WON’T PROHIBIT HIMSELF FROM THE CONSTANT TEASING VIOLENCE IS THE ONLY ALTERNATIVE HE CAN RELY ON, STFU.

Violence, he learned much later on, was not the answer. Dearka still pokes fun at the mere idea but he’d rather have him than anyone else do it to him. Besides, it was the perfect excuse to smack him for being such a bastard.

EIGHTEEN

In his rage to find Lacus hopping about so flamboyantly and bouncing her endowments without restraint in concert, his first instinct was to locate Athrun Zala and pressure him for an explanation. His second instinct told him that it wasn’t Lacus at all, idiot. His third instinct retorted that it should’ve been Kira Yamato, not Athrun Zala his first instinct should’ve looked for.

And instead of following these absurd instincts of his, he resigned to sharing a befuddled expression with Dearka.

NINETEEN

He and Dearka shared the mutual desire to defend Lacus’ ship, Eternal, from their own men not only because it was a Zaft ship but because they believed that Lacus Clyne was more than just a pretty girl who sang songs of hope and dreams. Lacus Clyne and Kira Yamato were harbingers of peace, the very thing both Coordinators and Naturals were ironically struggling for.

He found himself staunchest, most resilient and most ecstatic fighting for and with her. And for the peace she believed in.

TWENTY

He looked at Lacus-sama with his admiration as she accepted her position as the mediator between Coordinators and Naturals. He also admired himself somehow, not for achieving a position close to his idol, but because after everything that has transcended for the past few years in his life, his faith and devotion to her and her ideals never wavered.

And there wasn’t any living-happily-ever-after ending later on. But there was hard earned peace after all, and they deserved it.

Though he still hasn’t got the gall to ask for her autograph.

Credit and my rather lengthy notes: I tried to keep him as in-character as possible without losing the intended humor in the fic. Many, many thanks to yzak, essays from commander_bitch and COORDINATE for keeping me from bastardizing the character that is Yzak Jule, and completely and utterly confusing him with another loud and short-tempered blond mazoku uke from another series <3. I am deeply indebted.

But WTF Yzak and Dearka spanking hurting each other is not canon. Boo.
I personally made the liberties of making them both act as teenage as possible without risking their canon personalities and relationships. Teenage boys playfully hit each other all the time. And I love Dearka and Yzak interaction, wut?

Besides, it’s FANFICTION stfu XD

Comments, Concrit and the spelling and grammar police are welcome to bombard me with comments ^_^

Oh and if anyone wants to write a crack!Yzak-head-priest-of-the-Lacus Clyne-cult, please feel free to do so! :D
