Summary:
Track 01 - Dali no Housekiten. // Track 02 - Suigetsu Kyouka.
N/A: Here, here, track 02! This is the least scary music of the series. I've put a lot of effort on it to catch the song's atmosphere, but I feel it only got boring. XD C'est la vie. Again, I highly advise you people to listen to the song while reading it; you just have to take the song's name, put it in youtube and there it is! Lyrics will be provided. Just in case the summary got too confusing, this one is named "Suigetsu Kyouka". It's a metaphor, and a hard time to decide which translation I would put naming the cut, so I put the literal one naming it and the metaphorical one in the beginning of the fic.
Visible, but Intangible.
It was full moon.
The wind was blowing so slowly that it seemed to be caressing the Earth, creating small waves on the lake’s surface. The vines around his ankles felt like silk threads, and lilies reflected in his mirror danced peacefully, following the silent melody of the moon.
His fingers were grazing over the mirror’s surface, and it was cold, even if the night were pretty warm; or were his fingers the cold thing? He glanced at the lake. The moon reflected on the water seemed to call him with the voice of the wind... “Come, Koyama”... “Come see me”.
Yet, he couldn’t. The vines were tying him up, and, even if they felt like silk, they were strong as chains. He sighed, watching the real lilies, on the margins of the lake, with tearful eyes.
He wanted to touch them.
Weakly, he laid down on the grass and squirmed towards the lake, going as far as he could and straining his finger painfully... he was almost touching them, the perfume invading his senses. The vines strangled his fingers, now feeling rough as a vine is supposed to be. The moon... he closed his eyes, navy blue butterflies flying behind his closed eyelids.
He needed to reach for the moon.
The water now shone golden, but the moon was the shiniest. It was like a mermaid locked inside a pearl.
“Come, Koyama. I’m right here.”
His ankles felt a sharp pain before the vines finally tore, setting him free. Euphoria invaded him as he crawled towards the water, dragging his body painfully. When the lilies finally brushed his skin, a smile escaped his lips. A madman smile.
“Come to me.”
The water was shinning unreal, too clear, too bright. Liquid delusion. Two tears rolled from Koyama’s eyes and fell into a lily, like drops of whine in a chalice; he extended his arms towards the moon, but not the one in the sky. The one in the water.
He went to embrace it, and the water wrapped him like a warm blanket as the vines on his ankles pulled him further and further, deeper and deeper into the lake, searching for that seductive pearl in a merry desperation.
Under that tree, the cold mirror reflected nothing. Only the pitch black night-sky.
