unrevised writing in a flash

i’d like to return to
ink and quills
tattooed evidence of the night’s work
on my fingers
instead of backspace re-save
leave no stains
after immediacy has been scrapped
for purpose processing revision
i’d like to
carve first-drafts into my leg
rub them down with whiskey
and lavender
peel the skin, still wet,
send it to the press
before the words pucker
and scar
resemble anything that could be called art
