What I learned today

Today, I learned that becoming a totalitarian dictator takes a lot of hard work in preparation, plus a great deal of paranoia and murder to maintain your position once you're in power. If I can figure out a way around those two obstacles (particularly the latter), I'll be in business.

Yesterday, I learned a neat Chinese proverb from my чрезвычайный language partner, 孙博: "饭后百步走,能活九十九." In English, roughly: "Walk a hundred steps after meals, live to be ninety-nine."
