Personally, I am under-enthused about attending Norwescon this year due to the fact that there aren't going to be any room parties. The panels are nice and all, but the parties and the people I get to interact with there are the real reason I go every year. I'm angry with the Doubletree's new management for the crap they've been pulling, not just on Norwescon but with the hotel in general. I'm not going to buy a room. I'm going to ghost it, visit with the people I only get to see once a year, then go home.

You mean no "mega" room parties. There still will be the smaller ones, just no Biohazard and Merchants of Deva. Instead it will be, well, more like most Science Fiction cons.

I fail to be disappointed. But then I was never much for being in a crowded room where the main point is getting drunk.

Oh, none of *those* parties... whew. For a minute there, I was concerned.

Agreed. They get so loud and crowded there's no way to talk to anyone, which is what I do at parties. The dancing is still on, and that is fun.
