So... Pretend I'm a Tech Writer (and that I know what I'm doing)
What do I need to know about search engines? Imagine I'm trying to use optimization techniques for search engines within an article.
Oh, yeah, and imagine that I've never used a computer before...
Twelve days and two Sci Fi novels later and I'm almost back to myself. And now I have to figure out what to be when I grow up... Scary. But first, I have a plan.
I'll go back and get more school.
For right now, however, the plan is to break into Tech Writing. But how the hell do I do that? I have stellar grades, a lot of geek friends, and I am a great writer (if I do say so myself) ...But I've never worked a tech job in my life, and I never learned C++. I've hung around you all long enough to know that C++ is worthy of being mocked, but I don't even know it.
Still, if lack of knowledge in an area had ever stopped me from trying before I would have never made it to Kindergarden, right?
So I'm off -- into the great wide wonder -- trying to find my way.
Any words of wisdom?
