I feel bad for not posting about all the FUN I had last week. Well, the end of it anyways, I don't really remember what happened at the beginning.
Ummm... oh yes. Wait... I keep losing my train of thought. Oh, okay, I can tell you about Old Town on Thursday with Jill! We had soo much fun. I drove to the trolley station making only ONE wrong turn, and then we sat amongst the scary eye-patched people talking in British accents. Then we got there and shopped a lot and ate eh-so-so Mexican food and laid on the grass gossipping and laughed about how there were Mexicans running Asian booths in the middle of Old Town. We also explored the Whaley House, which I'd never been brave enough to do before, but we didn't see any ghosts. We did, however, hear a scary noise. GHOST!! We also ate Cold Stone, but before dinner, just to be cool. Then we went to see the male intellect: an oxymoron? which was super good. It was a one man show, and had all these awesome lines about why men and women are the way they are. "Men hock loogies. Why? Because they have a PENIS!!!" Before the show they were playing a song that went "Big Haaaair gets me lots of compliments." I loved it!!
Then I couldn't go to the bonfire *sadness* cuz I had to go feed Isaac. I drive there, only getting lost once (WOO!), and find that there is no parking because the scary looking people next door are having a huge party. There were about ten men in black standing outside watchng me drive by with looks on their faces that clearly read "Meat!". So I called Daddy and he dropped me off at the front door, cuz I didn't wanna walk past these rapists-in-training. Needless to say, I fed the cat and did not get raped. Then I drove by Vinnie's to get th sticker he bought me at Comic-con, which said "Republicans for Voldemort", which made me laugh for about ten minutes. Then we had a truck night (sort of like a porch night) and made obscene hand smudges on my truck to confirm his mother's suspicions about what we DO during truck nights, mwa ha ha.
The next morning I got in trouble cuz Mommy thought I was overextending myself, but I went to Comic-con anyways. Katy and Vinnie knew more nerd stuff than me, but I still did pretty darn well. And we got free Harry Potter posters!!!! The Con was definitely really fun. And we saw Natalie Portman! And I got to wear my Weasley sweater, which was love. Then I decked out in Gern-inspired black and white layers that made me look like a pirate, and brought my brothers to the Black&White party, which was SO FUN!! Oh my goodness. I danced ridiculously, it was awful, but I enjoyed myself nonetheless. And we went out on a limb and POOP-ed Raquel, which was amusing. The POOP sign is getting around! Danielle throws great themed parties. Can't wait for the next one!!
The next day was punctuated with reading HP, babysitting, reading, church, and reading. I read at so many places: the pool parking lot, the kids house, my room, with the cat, katy's bed, my room again. I finished it Sunday night, and loved it, but thought it was a little predictable. I didn't cry.
I find it extremely interesting that I read the new Harry Potter book, something I adore, and didn't get flustered or depressed like last time. Actually, I think I was more indented by stayng up super late working on Two-Fifty-Six AM then finishing it. I guess that's a sign of my priorities right now. Friends above, well, literary friends. I need to not lose my spare time by focusing on false obsessions. I'd rather be obsessed with my last month here. I like it that way.
But don't get me wrong. The romance in HBP? Made me do 100 jumping jacks in the living room. SO GOOD!!
I feel the urge to do "something productive". Maybe I'll go for a walk. Mayhaps??
