Dressing up at working doesn't have to be boring...no ties or patten leather shoes required....:)

This week has been a reminder to me why I have been at the same job for nearly 4 years. This is by far the longest period of time that I have managed to be with one employer...I almost said "under the thumb" but, that has not been the experience for the most part. There have been moments where I have felt controlled and directed like a marionette, but those experiences have been few.
On Tuesday we had our first fun theme day up in the cafe'. We hope to have these on a monthly basis. It was advertised as fancy pants day with a free meal coupon available in a drawing for all participants. We had 20 people that showed up in a variety of bottoms, some of which could possibly cause irreversible retinal damage. I raided the holiday supplies to create a pair of...x-mas chaps...shall we say. I had lights wrapped around both legs and waist appropriately accented with gold garland. I had an industrial size bright orange extension chord draped over one shoulder like a pageant sash connected to the lights and my head was adorned with a 1' high bejeweled with white fuzzy base tiara borrowed from my director. I plugged myself and played hostess for the lunch hour. I love my job. The potential upcoming fun themes are the following: Copa Cabana, Cheeseburger in Paradise, dress as your favorite rock star, Monty Python, Lord of the Rings, Construction Zone, etc. If anyone has a good suggestion to add to these feel free to comment.
I'm heading out to the parent's farm tonight to celebrate Father's Day with a cookout. I don't have any definite plans for the remainder of the weekend. I'm thinking about going hiking at Devil's Lake and taking my camera with tomorrow and doing a bike ride on Sunday. The weather for the weekend will be ideal and then we will be hit with another streak of hot and humid weather. I have to keep my ass outside this weekend before returning to A/C hibernation.
