OK...um...I''m here...and...er...I haven''t slept yet...tweeky Steve

Ok...so the internet cafe'' connected to my hotel isn''t exactly free...so...I''m going to need to attempt being a little concise...yeh...right.
THe plane ride from Chicago went fairly smooth except for the fact that I didn''t get any sleep. 71/2 hours on a plane requires some sleep...well...I think I fell asleep for a few moments...I woke up with my neck twisted in a not so comfortable position...ouch...and I had to relieve myself in both ways...but my bowels seem to have a problem with the toilet that leads to...um...the Atlantic?
I had noisy drunk French guys ahead of me and this extremely annoying older couple that sounded like there were from suburban Chicago. The woman''s voices could lead the pope to rise from the dead and kill puppies...or something else cuddly and furry. I had a friendly neighbor in my row that was traveling to Athens. He had ruby slippers as well. He had been to Amsterdam a few years ago. He gave me a few helpful tips about getting around the city. I ended up making attempts by myself today. I wasn''t really in the mood to join a group of tourists on my first day with no sleep and a mental state unpredictably jumping between snarky and tweaky. I managed to take the wrong train from the airport...only I could manage this. I ended up in another province before I asked someone why it was taking so long to get to Central Station in Amsterdam...he replied...and he was sweet about it...and adorable...they all are here...he said...your in Utrecht...um...er...ack...grrrr....omg. He was very helpful in giving directions to get me back on track. On my journey back I ran into an older gentleman from Rhode Island...he was a little turned around as well. We rode back to Central Station together and had a nice chat about what he had seen so far. He is here for the last part of his wife''s business trip.
I''m planning an early evening...yet not ready to go to sleep as of yet...hmmmm...what shall I do. I''ve completed a preliminary assessment of this gay neighborhood and the one closest. I managed to get soaked to the bone in the process...but..that is OK. You need to be fast around here. If the cars don''t schmuck ya...the bikes, trams, buses, people, dogs...oh...my...I''m definitely feeling a little closer to my mortality every time I cross the street.
I am running out of my allotted time. Here''s to the beginning of a wonderful adventure. Wish me luck and I will see or talk with all of you that are following this soon.
