Opinions

People. We are shaped within our personalities to be who we are by the people we grow up with, in the location we grow up in. After all of these factors are put together, we all have certain types of people and personalities that we just don't get along with. Certain beliefs and opinions boggle my mind. For example: a grandparent that won't buy their grandson something that is a deep purple color... because they are afraid that will indicate that they are gay... purple is just a color. In fact, if I recall right, deep purple is more associated with royalty than our more modern thoughts on homosexuality. So therefore, if I were that grandparent, and homosexuality bothered me, I would be more worried if my grandson started buying pins or stickers with the color of the rainbow on it... and even then, that could mean nothing. It's all in the opinion of the person, but a color is just a color to me. I try to be as open minded as I can, I do of course have my issues as well, that I find myself doing something that is just as close minded as the person I am opposing. We are all human, all a little closed minded, all a little selfish in our own right. Altruism doesn't exist, right? Me saying that I am open minded could be just me trying to say "I'm likeable" of course a lot of the things I say and do are me constantly trying to prove that I'm likeable, but don't we all? We all want friends, some sort of family, love and acceptance. But do we all try to hard for that? Or do we try when we don't need to try, and people already like us? I guess a lot of things in the world bother me now, the older I grow. I have slowly become more angry, more bitter. My temper is shorter now.

venting, daily blah
