Oh my god, you guys. Today I found myself at Target and, as usual, was wandering the DVD aisles when I saw there on the shelf -- the first season of Freakazoid. I waved it at my sister and we both had a small spasm. And then I bought it.
Let me tell you a story about this show and me: I was a cable-deprived child. I grew up knowing the local library and PBS, rather than Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network (or whatever you kids were into back then). However, there was one month out of my formative years in which we had cable. It was an unimaginable trove of cartoons, the most notable of them all being Freakazoid. I fucking lived for that show.
And then after about a month, the cable was canceled because my mother kept getting distracted by Rolling Stones specials on VH1. Life went on, and the show faded into naught but fond memories.
But now, watching it again -- wow. This explains a lot about my sense of humor XD. And, yeah, I had a giant crush on Freakazoid back then. Turns out he's still hot.
tl;dr I'm so happy to have found this show again and I am off to watch more.
edit: auuugh why why why do bugs like my room so much? Just spent the last ten minutes crashing around whilst trying to smash a gigantic and hideous mosquito crane fly whatever thing :C
