Hello all. Well, the weather here has cooled down quite a bit. Its in the mid to high 70's. It's glorious. I hope it stays that way. To day is the first full day off the arts track has off since we have been here. Everybody else is off too, but its a first for the arts track. Some people are going to Coney Island later on today, which you all know i have been wanting to go, but I actually don't think i will. not today anyways. This is the first day I will be able to be alone. I'm an only child, I'm not used to being around peeps 24-7. So it will be nice to have a day to recoup and spend some quality time with myself, atleast for the most part. Everybody I've talked to kinda feels the same way too. I definitley will be doing the worlds longest quiet time. I haven't had one since I've been here. Definitely spening some time reflecting on the past 2 weeks and going over decisions we have made about the installation. I may go to the Gap and do some shopping. I think I might go to Central Park by myself and think and sketch. I may go to the metroploltian museum with a couple girls, but i don't know yet. depends on when they go. I'll probably be spending the evening chilling and making support calls. I may have to go to queens by myself tomorrow night! my arts director want to meet with me and work on support with me at her appartment. I hope I don't get lost. I'll be seeing Rent tomorrow afternoon after church!!! YAY!! Rent in New York!!! I can't wait! Yesterday afer working on the installation for an ungodly amount of time, a few of us went to the MoMA. This girl Maria and I cried like babies. You know, when you are in the presence of such great, moving, amazing art the only way to express how you feel seems to be to cry! When I walked in to the room with the 5 or 6 Pollock paintings my eyes just welled up with tears. I looked over at maria and the same was happening to her. I was just in awe!! I mean getting the chance to view actual warhols face to face! And Roy Lichtenstein and Marcel DuChamp, and Salvador Dali, and Jasper Johns god, it was wonderful. I really want to go back and spend more time there!! after the museum we went to this horrid semi mexican food resteraunt called maui tacos, it was gross. fish and taco are two tastes that should never be mixed. ever. alot of people liked it...no me. After that, the arts tracks went back to NYCAMS and had a film night. We watched these short films and documentaries that the staff and friends of the staff did in Spain. It was awesome. After that, Me, Leah, Amber, Bryson, and staff member Heidi (who is friggin awesome!) and her friend Bryan who was visiting from Boston went to this really cute coffee shop on the upper east side called UT-DT (uptown - downtown) It was so great. It was late at night so we were all delirously sleepy so everything was funny! It was great. Well, i hope you all have a great weekend, keep me update on whats going on at the home front.
