Who sleeps in bed next to you?
Lots of pillows.
Have you ever done anything extreme?
Depends on what you consider extreme. Going to grad school in CA even though I'd never been there and knew very little about the school was pretty extreme for me.
Who are your favorite bands bands, solo artists or composers?
Bitter:Sweet; RDJ who is surprisingly good; The Hush Sound; The Cardigans; Glee cast
What are your current fandoms/addiction/obsession?
Er...I guess Iron Man, Glee, and Star Trek are kinda what I'm all about right now as far as entertainment goes but I love most movies and books. It's not really a fandom thing.
What's your fashion style?
I have to look semi-professional for the job but I don't waste my nicest good clothing on that because I don't want anything ruined. Otherwise I love jeans and solid color shirts. When it gets colder I like to layer thing sweaters or vests over dress shirts with cute jackets.
Who is your fandom crush, either an actor or character?
Most people who know me anymore know that I'm devoted to Robert Downey Jr. first and foremost. I also enjoy Chris Pine and Zach Quinto, and still enjoy Orlando Bloom. As far as characters go, see most of their's.
Who are your role models?
Would it be trite to say someone like Nelson Mandela? I heard the man speak once, in London, and it blew me away. I may not always agree with his beliefs and his politics, but I have to admire him for sticking to them and fighting so hard for so long for a better world. I also have always looked up to Queen Elizabeth I and have often tried to model myself on her example. But mostly I just try to be a good person and hope that's enough.
What are you listening to right now?
Glee episode 2.
What food could you eat every day for weeks and not get sick of?
Hard to say. I get sick of things easily, not because they're not still good but because I've conditioned myself to accept and love frequent change. I guess pasta is a staple though. And chocolate.
What websites do you always visit when you go online?
LJ, Yahoo, google, facebook, wikepedia, imdb.
What was the last thing you bought recently?
I bought Carrie Fisher's autobiography today. I'm very excited to start it. But probably not until after The Lost Symbol on Tuesday.
What was the sexiest thing you've seen today?
Probably something in the erotica section of the store while I was fixing some shelving issues at work. But apparently it didn't have much of an impact on me. Shame I can't say it was the guy who asked me out.
Does the weather affect your mood?
Sometimes. I like rainy days as much as I like sunny, sometimes more, but if it gives me a headache I'm usually very unhappy.
If you could have any superpower, what would it be?
I used to say I wanted to fly or teleport. Actually I often lament that I have yet to master the art of teleportation. But I'm going to cheat and say I want Peter Petrelli's empathy based power that absorbs other talents like a sponge and gives me the ability to use them. Then I'd have access to a lot of superpowers.
Do you want to learn another language?
Well I already speak Spanish and German. And some French, some Dutch, and some Hungarian. And some Italian and a handful of Latin. But speaking Hungarian properly, and and Russian might be cool. Or an Asian language, like Madaring Chinese or Japanese. And of course Arabic. I like languages.
5 things you can't live without.
1. Books
2. A notebook & writing implement
3. Internet
4. My Friends
5. My iPod/iTunes
What books or comics are you currently reading or collecting?
Oh good lord this is going to take a bit: Okay, so I'm currently reading The Glass Castle (Which is amazing). I will be reading The Lost Symbol and Wishful Drinking next week. I just finished book two of the Looking Glass Wars Trilogy - Seeing Redd (Such a brilliant young adult series!), My Lady of Cleves, and The Other Queen - another master work by Philippa Gregory.
If you belonged to a different culture, which one would it be?
I already belong to several...it's hard to really pick another one. I suppose I'd make it official that I'm British, even though it's generally accepted as genetic fact and I am partly British.
What are you looking forward to?
My trip to DC next week, and relaxing away from work.
