Meanwhile, back at the ranch...
Woke up with a slight fever and sore throat. Home from work today.
I just watched a cooking show all the through. This is something I never do, however, the cook was so charming and gorgeous she held my attention. I now have a slight girl-crush on Finnish/American chef/designer/former model Sara La Fountain. She looks a lot like Kiera Knightly. Sorry..I think it's the fever talking.
Not much new. I realize though I'm much happier at this juncture in time compared to last year. I love being single and the exciting sense of freedom that comes along with it. I've learned to love living alone. Not much in the dating front. I continue to have a love/hate relationship with OK Cupid. There's a Frenchman in Morocco and and Englishman in Stafford that I've been messaging with. Yea..that'll go far. Pfffft. I've no idea how they've found me on that site but they're interesting.
Work is...well, work. House is still standing. No leaks thus far. I'm a bit concerned about ice dams but Scott claims the roof looks ok. Pippin continues to be adorable and sweet. Despite this current illness, my health has been good. I lost 5 pounds this year. I'd love to lose another 10.
Xmas was tons of fun. Spent it it at my friend Scott's lovely house in St. Paul, along with some other holiday "orphans." Great food, good music, wonderful company, and dancing all night. Pretty much the best xmas ever. And not one present was received or exchanged. (I'm po' now) And I didn't care! I don't need any more stuff.
This has been a very turbulent year, but I feel I came through learning lots of lessons about life and relationships. If I weren't feverish and achy, I'd be feeling pretty good at this moment!
