Ok... Let's play a game! I'm going to give a scenario and you guys tell me your reaction! ("Shoes" represent an object of much more use and of great necessity.)

Let's say you've been saving your money for a pair of expensive “shoes” (they're not common and you can't just buy them anywhere, in fact there's a waiting list). You've been working your ass off to save money, had a few set backs but, you're half way saved to your goal! Now, your best friend has said how they need new “shoes” but don't know what to get. Sure they like the pair you have in mind ('cus they're nice) but they haven't planned to buy anything any time soon. BUT! Your friend calls you one day and said they talked w/ the man who sells “shoes” and plans to buy it for themselves. The only pair in the area and you can't special order a pair for you or anything!

Now your friend is soooo happy because they're going to get what you've been working hard to save money for and they don't see anything wrong. And says as a bonus, "You don't even need these “shoes” because you're happy just bumming other “shoes” off people. I need them more than you."

There's a difference if the scenario said a stranger bought you out (since that's expected) but what would you do if your friend, basically, pulled the rug from under you?
