It was last night...and it rocked. Here's my review for the boards:
I was blown away last night...The show is so much better when you haven't seen it in ages.
Full lead cast.
I don't know if there were any swings on for anyone so I'll leave it to those who were there that do know to let you know that.
MiG: this guy deserves to win Rockstar because last night he was singing and performing like a rockstar. There were very few glitches that i picked up the most obvious of these was at the end of Boh Rap someone (not me) yelled out "I love you MiG!" and he started to laugh before replying "I love you too". He looked like he was having a blast up there tonight and his hammer to fall impersonations of Hannah were spot on.
Hannah: Dispite having a bit of a cold a few days ago she's really recovered quickly. She changed one of the higher notes in WWTLF but other than that I didn't notice anything amiss. The bowler hat line was excuted really well including a short mime sequence of a rabbit in a bowler hat cooking an omlette. The finger-bull/devil horns were back during either WWRY or WATC.
Colin: this was the first time I'd seen any other Brit than Nigel C and the way Colin played the character was different but still as 'britney-like'. I love the new costume and added karate-esque movements.
Jenna: She was really on form as Meat and her and colin seemed to be working really well together. NOBY was outstanding and she was really full of energy during CLTCL. I noticed the 'red let me live' band on her coustume. Is that always there?
Mazz: has the binini line facial expressions down to a fine art. She's really taken the role and made it her own since I last saw her. (about 28-ish of july last year).
Alex: The look on his face for the rigamortis line was hysterical. His seven seas of Rhye was fanastic and I thought I saw a tiny bit of ad-libbing during the don't stop me now scene with mazz. he a got a fairly loud cheer and did a little curtsy to which Mazz's responce was "oh grow up". I love the addition of the "must be going" line during that scene also, it says alot about the character.
Jeff: was surperb as Pop last night, kept kissing Mig on the forehead at every possible chance to which MiG's face was a picture. It seems Jeff has the character ingraved into his actions because there wasn't a second he wasn't in character while onstage.
The band were as ever fantasic. 10/10.
the audience were pretty good and I saw some gaga clapping on th opposite side of the stalls to me. 8.5/10
I was great seeing the boardies that were at the stage door. I was the one with the long reddish blonde hair that was getting very wet because I didn't have a brolly. It was nice to have a chat with Charlotte and I promised I'd mention her when I did this review.
I'm not sure who was playing the purple Teen Queen but they were cracking me up all the way through SBTL by pretending to pick their nose and throw things at Scaramouche. They were acting exactly like some rather unpleasent people at my old school which is I suppose how the character is supposed to act. She was really getting into to it and it was a delight to watch.
I'd also like to say that I was impressed with the little monitors in the tube station by the escaltors. It made me forget how far down it was to fall.
