Los Angeles!!!!
I got back from LA yesterday morning... and basically slept until today... with the exception of when I had to go to work this morning at 7. I had an amazing time!!!!! I was really worried that it would be awkward, I mean I know my cousin and everyone says we are a lot alike but I wasn't sure. So I didn't really get all that excited about the trip because I was more worried... But after the first like five minutes everything was straight... and a good time was had by all. Ok so here is everything....
He picked me up from the airport and we went straight to UCLA where he is a grad student. He needed to talk to his advisor before he could take the weekend off. But then he took me on a walking tour of the campus. We dropped my stuff off at his place and he drove me around to see Sunset Boulevard and The Grove and then we went to see Venice Beach and the Canals. We grabbed dinner at a Thai resturant and went to get ready. Then his friend Danny and Theta came to pick us up and we went to get dessert and drinks at Justin Timberlakes resturant. Then we headed over to Prey and snuck me passed the Bouncers... it really wasn't that hard. More drinks and dancing commenced. Then I ended up doing so lip-locking with this Brazilian I met, which was rather convinent because it freed Greg up to get some numbers.
The next day we went on the Warner Brother's Studio Tour. Which was really good, but would have been better had we not both been incredibly hung-over and skipped breakfast. The tour was like 2 1/2 hours. They showed us basically everything... We got to walk on the West Wing Set, The old Central Perk set, the Set of Joey, the set of Gilmore Girls. We saw the growing Pains house and the Little house on the Prarie House. and We saw the current set of Rent the movie. They also showed us like their props department and different assembly shops. The tour ended at a museum that the enitre upper floor was filled with Harry Potter stuff from the movies. then we went to Universal Studios. And did that tour and hung out there for a while. We saw the set for War of the Worlds as well as many other things. Then we went out that night with Gregs friend Danny and were somewhat less successful at getting me into 21 and up clubs but we were very successful at getting trashed. It was still fun.
The next day Greg's friend Dana came with us to see all the touristy things like the Hollywood sign, Gromins Chinese theater, the walk of fame, the kodak theater, rodeo drive. We went to Santa Monica pier that night for dinner. We rode the ferris wheel and took pictures. Neither me nor greg felt like drinking again so we went to see Mr and Mrs. Smith with his friend Allana. And then we just hung out and watched trashy tv at his apartment.
The next day Danny Dana Greg and myself went to this Indian Reservation about an hour and a half inland that has like outlet malls and a casino where you only had to be 18 to gamble. I won $35 at the roulette table. Then we went back to LA and ate. Then Danny Greg and I just rented a movie and got Ice cream... It was so great hanging out with people outside of Paris illinois and older than 12 (my day camp job). I feel like I really fit in with Greg's friends... like even if we weren't cousins and we met we'd probably still be friends. It was just like going to hang out with my friends from school. only with different people in common.
The next day Greg and I went to Magic Mountain and then to dinner with Danny before they dropped me at the airport at like 10:30 pm.
I really had a wonderful time, I think i was so suprised that Greg and I are so much alike... And that i fit in so well with his friends. I think maybe because I went in worried and with low expectations, then i just decided to fuck that and have a good time... Ok most of this was written down purely so I could remember it and what I did while I was there.
I am still smiling over the good time had. I can't wait to get out of Paris and live that kind of life that I had before.... I guess this weekend just made me remember how much I miss being around people I am similar too. And i feel like in college i got that for the first time.
