Suprises and Marks of another kind.

My mother bought me a ring today. It's got a single glass bead, that's multihued and has bits of metal in it that make it shimmer. The ring itself was allegedly pure sterling silver but just now when I took my ring off... well... it left a green ring around my finger in it's shape. Now I may be mistaken *coughs* (but I doubt it) but I don't think sterling silver leaves that. So my mom spent a fair amount of dosh on a piece of ... err... well... not sterling silver jewelry. Honestly it doesn't bother me any. I'm one of the 'oh shiny' people in the sense that that part of it doesn't bother me it shines prettily either way unless it's a sword or somehow the function is compromised by it (locks, cars, pans. etc.) I don't care but it'll be a bit hard to explain the green mark on my finger to my mum in a way that she won't care. (And the british accent seems to have stuck from the show I was just watching) Anyway. I know the ring was a gift from the heart so I'm unsure if I should tell her that the sales lady... fibbed. It was the moving away sale for the jewelry stand she bought it from so she can't get her money back (even if they did offer refunds) and she bought gifts there for other people so.... Augh. Ah well. It's still every bit as shiny. *puts it back on*
