I've been to the pub, but, as always, I AM WITH YOU, BOGGLES!!!
The film was shit. All this tie in shit is shit. I am ignoring everything that pops up on the BBC website until it goes away.
I was watching The Mummy this afternoon, and was a little bit annoyed that instead of just revelling in the banterously fantastic docks scene, I was also forced to think about how shit the docks scene is in Titanic by comparison.
Rick/Evie 4eva baybee; Jack and Rose should just drown and fuck off with their weird 'oh, plz, draw me naked with this ugly jewellery' sex games. So there.
I have never seen the film, so I am free to not understand any of that!I did enjoy The Mummy though, mostly because I really wish I looked like Rachel Weisz.
(see what I am reduced to in order to think of ANYTHING worth posting?)
And you even did it in small letters... Tut, tut. *shakes head*
You've missed nothing. I actually watched it at school, IIRC, though I vaguely remember it was primary school and our teacher was giving us a special treat by allowing us to see a 12. I was so, so bored. If older!me finds romance mostly dull, then little!me found it utterly mind-numbing. And everyone was crying! Terrible stuff.
Of course, what was worse was all the years afterwards, with that god awful My Heart Will Go On played in every single talent show/class musical afternoon/random teenage school event for ever after. Usually on the flute - though I think even I had the piano music from somewhere. By the end of Year 11 it was second only to A Whole New World from Alladin as my most hated and yet predictable tune to hear at this sort of thing. Teenagers these days don't know how lucky they are.
I think the only film I saw at school was Caddyshack. Much better than wet romance drivel!
How the hell I managed to avoid the song for so long, I will never know. But not being at school, might have a lot to do with it- I think school is responsible for much of my loathing of The Beatles.
The only interesting thing to ever have come out of that film is Kate Winslet's diary, which just goes to show how happy James Cameron is to basically torture his actors...
