[Yuki is awake. This is wrong. She should never have been asleep in the first place. She had not slept, after all, since she had regained the body that the Data Entity had designed her with back during the events of the New Year. A quick check of the calendar, however, reveals that it is the 1st of February. It appears, then, that her expectations had been met. She had indeed been spirited away the night of the 29th. Observing as was her custom, the events that had transpired during her period of disability were quickly uncovered. More had disappeared. Accusations had been thrown. Several deaths and suicides had occurred. But instead of a fourth round of disappearances the night before, a message from a young girl, presumably one Lucy Smith, had played, reverting the town back to its normal state of operations and revealing the majority of the previous events to be a hoax.
She was somewhat disappointed. 'Trust is not an issue in the listing of the data. It is only an issue in the interpretation. This is a compilation of what the town desires us to believe and may be interpreted as one desires.' That was what she had said. The true interpretation, however, left something to be desired. She had shifted out of observation mode and participated actively in the events . . . for little more than a hoax. It had been, she now felt, a mistake. And yet there was no point in regretting the actions she had already taken. There was a human saying. 'Hindsight was 20/20'.
In any case, she would, at least, finish the job she had started. The notebook she had filled with data still lay beside her phone.]
It appears as if the events are over. I will be returning my operations to normalcy after compiling the missing information for potential future use. If there is any relevant data I may have missed, I request to be informed.
. . .
Addendum. Have any juvenile organisms of the family Leporidae been observed in Mayfield?
