Fourth Report: Mother's Day
[Approximately 2 hours after Yuki's conversation with Rita, a note is taped to Judith's door. Written upon it in perfectly straight handwriting are the words, "Please retrieve your presents from the front step as soon as possible."
Yuki's reasons for leaving the gifts outside are obvious. Lying across the steps, spreading down the walkway and into the sidewalk are an array of flowers, five each of every single flowering plant growing in the town of Mayfield. This includes flowers from shrubs, trees, and even plants normally classified as weeds, such as dandelions. Lying on the welcome mat by the door is a generic card without anything written it, as well as a note -- "Lacking the finances to do so, I am unable to purchase chocolate at this time. I am further unable to locate any cacao trees growing within the town." The entire thing is clearly observable from the street.
