While doing homework I came across a few interesting websites:
pbwiki.com,
jot.com, and
xwiki.com, all as you may have guessed our wikis. But what is a wiki? Ever go to Wikipedia, the worlds first internationally renowed open encyclopedia edited by everyone and read by everyone. If you never been you are either living under a rock or don't research much. Check it out at
Wikipedia.
What the aforementioned sites do is allow users to create there own wiki for personal or public use which they can invite others or use for personal uses of any ranging topic. Just think, what ever one could write about the wiki is your friend.
After playing around with the three of them I have come to the conclusion the pbwiki is a simple yet powerful wiki. It doesn't limit the amount of pages I can write while jot.com only allows an un-paying user to create 20 pages. Jot.com does have plenty of fancy tools that allow users for example, to make create Project pages for others to use as a resource. Both had very different approaches so I really can't recommend one over the other. My time spent at xwiki was short because I after I created the site it was down. So in conclusion if you need fancy tools use jot.com and if you need something simple pbwiki is your friend.
