Here (like my art for etacanis 's big bang) I've tried for a minimalist style, using a cool colour scheme and a very simple design. I also tried to balance out the page by using block colours and by setting the title at the top in the left corner and the by-line at the bottom in the right, and then having the arrow cut through the image in the middle. The arrow is also going from the left to the right, which I've used to try and indicate going into the future or looking forwards (rather than if it was going right to left, in which case it would be used to suggest looking back at the past or repeating past mistakes).
Other styles I toyed with a little bit were neon-coloured, futuristic styles-a city skyline with a wind-effect on it, turned bright colours and then adding in a sci-fi font-face for the title and by-line. I scrapped this idea in the end as it didn't really represent the story properly, and went for the minimalist style instead.
