We got mail today!

Yes indeed, my son has been selected to be included in the Middle School Edition of "Who's Who: Registry of Academic Excellence"

ROTFLOL!  Yes indeed, the mail came to "the parents of Kirk Denevell".

Do you think I should have him submit a persona bio?  ;D

mail, kirk

I don't know. I'm still trying to figure out how they got his SCA name and our real address.

The Who's Who of Academic Excellence is not a joke. Apparently a teacher, school official, or youth group leader saw something special in your son and nominated him, as these are the only people that could have nominated him. That is how they have his name and address. To register him to be included in the book would have cost you nothing, but would have made him eligible for scholarships the organization awards. It is too bad you didn't do a little internet research or contact the school's administrative office to ask. My daughter's STRIVE (gifted program) director was very pleased to hear of my daughter's invite.

No, because "Kirk de Nevell" is a persona that my son assumes in a reenactment organization. It's not a real person. This mail was like getting a credit application for your dog.

How very strange, because it is a reputable publication and only school or youth group staff can nominate. Apparently someone in one of those positions thought it was a funny prank, rather unfortunate. It is something that should be taken seriously had it been received in your son's true name.
