Another day...
Well the big holiday weekend is over and I have 5 nights until Hanukkah. I'm actually taking liberties with the date that we have our "big night" with a huge dinner and pressies. Usually we get together and celebrate on the 1st Night of Hanukkah, but since I'm not quite ready for it, I'm moving our party to the 4th night. It's so nice to be able to choose..LOL.. In addition I'm thankful for the fact that I can buy gifts for my dad & sister as well as friends on a different pay check that's closer to Christmas. That more or less gives me 12 days to get my act together. I've got to bring the menorah down, buy candles, put up the decorations, plan our dinner, shop for dinner, and buy gifts for everyone, send out cards, and ship off a box to Iraq. That doesn't sound too bad actually, but I'm going to need to make a check list though so I don't forget anything.
Katie bug is sick and home from school today. Saturday night she went to her first ever sleep over party and became ill while she was there. Thank God that she made it into the bathroom. I just can't imagine the razzing she'd get at school if she had puked anywhere else at that little girl's house. I picked her up early and she's been on the couch sleeping and watching TV since then. I sure hope I don't get whatever this is. I just don't have the time to be sick right now.
I think that Kringle is adjusting well at our house. We took him through the drive thru at Starbucks last night and it was obvious that he knew what a drive thru was. I ordered him "a very small" puppy latte, and Rachel filled up an entire short cup with whipped cream!! Oh my god, it was just about as big as the dog. G would have let him eat the entire thing, but I took it away from him when he was about half done. A tiny little dog does not need to eat his weight in SBUX whipped cream. Good gracious..LOL...I'm still not sure how that was "very small". He sure did seem to enjoy it though.
After Starbucks we went to Target to get some top up cards for our phones and a new bed for Kringle. I think that we're going to be keeping our big table out in the living room. Kringle has sort of claimed below it as his spot, so that's where we put his bed. There's pleanty of room for our table where I have it in the living room and I think it might get used more as a table and less as a spot to pile crap. We'll move the bird cage into the breakfast nook and everything will work out great. I might take the leaf out of the table though, and I really should sand down the top of the table and refinish it so I don't have to keep a table cloth on it. The refinishing will have to wait until spring.
I should stop rambling on so I can get dresses and head off to work. I must admit laying around in my jammies instead of being out the door at 4:40am is kinda nice. It's just a 4 hour shift today though. I have a meeting at 10am and then I need to get order placed for next week.
Okay, I'm going now... really.
