BUT,
I did finally get offered a job today. I haven't told Facebook or Twitter yet, so you should feel lucky, LiveJournal.
Anyway, I'm going to be
Cyber Acoustic's Social Media Strategist and also help in the development of a new speaker/headphone meant for the PC Gamer specifically. I'll be playing PC games and trying to figure out what sounds best for the new speakers, keeping up Cyber Acoustic's blog/facebook page/twitter account/over-all social media message, and keeping minor maintenance of the CA website.
The job doesn't pay as much as I would have liked, but at least I'm going to be able to pay bills; I just won't be able to pay off my car and credit card as fast as I hoped. On the plus side, their headquarters are right here in Vancouver, so I don't have to move anywhere. Sadly though, there are only about 15 employees, all of which are much older than me.
I have applied for an Associate Editor position with
IGN, of which I am totally qualified for, and I do hope they call because that is my dream job. I would love to live in San Francisco writing for one of the biggest entertainment websites in the world.
But hey, I'm looking forward to actually having the ability to pay my bills without my parents or Maliyah's help. So cheers to that, I guess.
Best,
Beau Rosser
