APPEARANCE: Ty Lee is roughly 5’3 with a relatively curvy, yet extremely athletic build thanks to all the gymnastics she does. Her face is on the curvy side with cheeks that still hold a decent amount of puppy fat, however works well with her large brown eyes. One of her most nontaxable features is her extremely long brown hair with bangs that frame her face nicely and is usually kept in a high braid near the top of her head. When not in uniform, Ty Lee prefers clothing in pinks and deep reds and almost always finds a way to show off her midriff.

PERSONALITY:

Ty Lee is very much your average teenage girl with a few extra added quirks here and there. Very much a girly-girl, her favorite color is pink, she loves painting her nails and cares deeply for the state of her skin and watches the kinds of foods she puts in her mouth. More than anything she loves attention (particularly from the opposite sex!) and happens to be your typical boy-crazy flirt.

Generally, Ty Lee is spunky, energetic and easy-going. While often coming off as shallow, she’s the kind of person that can easily get along with most, people. She’s not the kind of person to hold a grudge and doesn’t look down on people as her friends might. Flighty in nature, she has a tendency to talk at people rather than to them, something that suits her well enough. Though she might seem like an air-head from time to time, that’s not say she’s completely stupid. There’s a lot more to Ty Lee than meets the eye, particularly if anyone is stupid enough to go up against her in a fight. But all in all, Ty Lee has feelings just like any other girl; she can cry when someone says something mean to her and has been known on occasion to have a little bite.

Due to growing up as the middle child of seven daughters, Ty Lee has developed a need to be the center of attention at all times. Often, she uses her gymnastic abilities to show off even when unnecessary, but when it comes down to it almost any attention is good attention. In the episode “The Bleach” Ty Lee proves this as she strings along several guys and quite simply stating ”I guess they all like me!” Naturally, while any attention is good, attention from boys is the best kind. However, she’s fickle about it and while she’s a huge flirt, she could never pick just one guy.

Ty Lee is a follower, not a leader and easily gravitates towards those with more power, whether it’s a teacher to suck up to or a wealthier friend that believes they can rule the school. Ty Lee herself is far from mean, yet her own want to be liked gets in the way as she follows such people blindly. For example, in Avatar: The Last Airbender she follows Azula practically everywhere, never questioning her actions even if she didn’t necessarily agree with them. At a younger age, she even giggled at Azula’s bullying. In many ways the way she follows such people is a form of her own attention seeking, however that isn’t to say she can’t be bullied or fearful of what such people can do herself. On many occasions Ty Lee has been known to do what Azula says just because she knows what the other girl is capable of, though she will wave it off to be something other than fear entirely.

Perhaps the strangest part about Ty Lee is her interest in spiritual energies such as auras and chi. Whether she can actually see auras or whether she’s making things up off the top of her head is yet to be seen, yet she has no problem up and telling someone that they’re aura is “dingy and gray”. Of course, she insists that her own is pink as ever, especially since she’s enrolled in Reims. Though it’s unclear how much she really knows about auras, one thing’s for sure is her knowledge of pressure points (or chi blocking), something she uses for self defense.

COMPUTER APTITUDE: Ty Lee has basic computer knowledge, she can work Microsoft word and could likely figure how to make a power point if she tried. Her general computer usage extends little outside of school and media sites (Cam whoring? Video whoring? You bet!) and the html use of fancy fonts and copy pasting sparkly images when necessary (which is often).

AU HISTORY: Ty Lee is born of both Chinese and Japanese heritage in the United States. The MuRong’s were a well-off family, well off enough that they had seven children in all, every last one a girl and little more than two years apart at most. Ty Lee was the blessed fourth daughter, making her the middle child. To anyone that asks, Ty Lee would insist that each and every last one of her sisters, save for the slight age difference, looked exactly alike.

Ty Lee suffered the same that many middle children insist-always getting called the wrong name, ignored for her siblings, etc. However, at a young age after she began taking gymnastics classes she learned that while her parents might not pay attention to her, but by learning things other kids can’t do made her stand out. That and she was good at it, quickly picking up and moving on to more things. In total, by the end of primary school the young girl was well-versed in not only gymnastics, but dance, yoga and a special form of self-defense that relied primarily on pressure points.

Despite all the attention all of her fancy bending and footwork gained her from other children, Ty Lee was incredibly tired of her family situation and wanted nothing more than to get away. And what was better than a French Academy? Despite the money of her family, Ty Lee chose to try for a scholarship in gymnastics. To her, this was a form of “running away” from her family to start her own life far away from her sisters.

Ty Lee quickly got along perfectly at Reims Academy, joining as many clubs and extra curricular classes as possible on top of keeping her gymnastics scholarship several years in a row (albeit, just barely keeping her gpa high enough to keep it.).

INTRANET/1ST PERSON SAMPLE:

Voice;

I’ve made a really important decision! I’m going to try out for the school play! It sounds like way too much fun to pass up, don’t you think? Of course, I don’t expect the lead female role or anything… I mean, I’m pretty busy with cheerleading and gymnastics anyways, but it wouldn’t hurt to do the play as well, right? Besides, I think the lead roll should go to someone much prettier! I’ll be fine with a minor role and even if I don’t get it maybe they’ll let me help paint the sets! [ she giggles a little. ]

That reminds me! Cheerleading try-outs are soon, so everyone should totally try out! Oh, yeah and… Well, I know this might come as a surprise and all, but I kind of need a tutor. With my busy schedule I’m only really available every three Mondays. That should be good, enough, right? I’d prefer it if it was a cute guy as well! I can focus so much better that way, you know!

LOG/3RD PERSON SAMPLE:

On top of the pink bedspread lay three outfits all of various shades of pink as Ty Lee stood at one end considering her options. This was an incredibly important decision as it was only ever so often that Ty Lee found a weekend she wasn’t busy enough to go to the mainland. This particular weekend she and a large group of friends had decided to go shopping and see a movie. Naturally, they just had to invite along one of the cutest boys in her grade.

While the brunette would have asked her room mate for an opinion, however the last time she tried she was given the dullest look and told never to ask again. The thought alone brought a sigh to Ty Lee’s lips, if only everyone could understand the importance of being fashionable. With no one around to help, she would have to pick one entirely by herself.

Carefully, she picked up the first one and held it up to herself in the mirror. After careful consideration she promptly decided “too skimpy” before haphazardly tossing it onto the floor. She did the same with the following outfit, only to decide “too frilly” before it joined the first. The last outfit, however, was deemed to be “just right” with the perfect amount of pink and ruffles while still giving her a chance to show off her great stomach.

After taking the time to brush her out to perfection only to put it into its usual braid, Ty Lee quickly dressed. Of course, what came next would be just as tough as a decision as picking out an outfit to begin with. That was, of course, accessorizing. It took Ty Lee another half an hour to finish getting ready after picking out everything out and putting on just the right amount of makeup before she was ready to head out the door.

Slinging her purse over her shoulder, she took one last look in the mirror. “Perfect~ Cute guy, here I come!” she giggled out before leaving her dorm room and rushing to meet up with her friends.
