A while back I wrote a post about tempting fate. Around May, 2015, I wrote a post saying that I couldn't die because I had too many books to read. I was diagnosed with breast cancer 2 months later. The gods do not like you to be flippant ( Read more... )

I'm so sorry to hear that you have more to deal with health-wise but I'm confident that you will handle it all with the same strength (even if you feel afraid sometimes) and courage that you have with all that's gone before this.

I understand wanting to have something for pain on hand 'just in case' & I hope you won't need it but do take it if you have pain. No gold stars for 'bearing it' - just be as comfortable as you can.

Sorry to hear about Dave. I felt sad reading about him and sad for his mother. Life can be very tough at times.

Speaking of mothers, how is yours? I hope you and your family enjoyed your holidays and the time you spent with your mom and helped her get the things settled that were concerning her.

Keep us updated about how you're doing.
hugs, buzzie

My mother is generally pretty good. She finds the heat hard to take but she keeps going. Still at home with our support and she wants to stay there for as long as possible.

Sometimes life just keeps throwing us fastballs, but how we handle them is the mark of who we are. You have had more than your fair share of issues to deal with, but your strength of character shines through. I hope that life will smooth out and give you a break asap. You deserve it. Good luck, my friend. Comforting hugs, Grammy

Thanks, Grammy. I've been taking medication for the shingles for 2 days now and I can already see an improvement.
It's all good.

Thank you so much for the update. It's good to have a more comprehensive picture of where you are in your treatments and progress. I do worry about you, still.

The shingles! Ugh. You remind me that my physician told me to get the shingles vaccine when I saw him in October. For some reason, if my doctor inoculates me, he'll have to charge me some outrageous amount but if I go to my pharmacy, it's much cheaper. Apparently, the manufacturer seems to feel they have better control over the vaccine if it is administered at pharmacies?!!? (Don't ask me to explain this!)Anyway, thanks for reminding me to go 'round to CVS, three blocks away, and get it done.

I totally understand laying in supplies of painkillers. I always take whatever is offered and rarely use more than a single pill. However, you never know.

Continue to take care of yourself and updates are appreciated. FanSee

I got it a year ago. My doctor told me that it was REQUIRED for all his
patients when they reached "a certain age." Since it was covered by my
insurance, I went for it.

I'm getting out a little bit more now which is nice. I now get to have weekends away and I'm even going on a cruise around the Baltic which will be brilliant.
I just roll with it and do what my specialists tell me - although I do ask questions.
