I had a busy day yesterday so today I decided to stay at home and sort out a few things.
While tidying drawers I actually found one of my chemo hats. It's hard to believe that at the end of this month it will be one year since my diagnosis and the start of my treatment. Time has certainly flown.
It's also hard to believe that it isn't that long since I was bald - something which never worried me, by the way. I found it much more exciting when my eyebrows grew back. Once diagnosed I actually bought a number of hats, some of which were winter weight and I will never wear. I'm not really a hat person.
But this past year has been a real experience for me. I learned a lot about myself and my friends. Friends, both in real life, on LJ and on FB, helped me get through one hell of an experience. It's not one that I would wish on anyone but it's taught me a lot about myself. I know that I can fight if I have to and I know that I have friends who will support me when I need it.
Thanks.
