A few months back, a lady who lost her son in the war was spear heading an anti-war protest at the President's ranch here in Texas. (I'm not sure how much visibility it got outside the state.) She wanted the war to stop so that families didn't have to lose any more sons/daughters. The media was only fueling the protest.
If you don't agree with the war, you have the right to stand up and be counted. But don't use the death of your son as a ploy to get your 15 minutes of fame. (Apparently, a friend's mother kindly pointed out that the greiving mother had time to get a manicure and her hair done before the protest. I suppose everyone greeves their own way.)
My take on it is. Excessive Anti-war protests are normally counter productive to the moral of the troops. Spending time with organizations such as the USSO. They're not pro-war, but they're pro-troops. Wear your bring the troops home now shirts while volenteering your time there. I think that speaks volumes over picketing the white house or walking out of trig.
