Last Saturday, we attended another lovely party hosted by Cheese. It looked like it would be overcast, but ended up being very nice. The theme was "white" and everyone complied except
barryfreed, who wore a t-shirt in honor of his recent skydive (he also brought along a dvd of his jump, which we all watched). Todd lost the croquet tournament for the first time in recent memory, falling to the mighty mallet of Jim. Maggie and Ivy had a great time, lots of soft green grass to run around in, lots of friendly people to play with.
shasta71 gave Maggie a pair of Tinkerbell wings, and Little Miss was thrilled with them and wore them pretty much the whole time.
Walking to Ralph's today, Maggie pointed out some "pink flowers." I said, "Those are called snapdragons, because the flower looks kind of like a dragon's head." Maggie, nodding sagely: "Dragon snaps are kind of like flowers." Uhhhh....
We've got some big ol' weeds growing in the yard, so I put on my gardening gloves and headed out to pull some of the worst of them. A little bit of effort helped a lot (though there are some broad-leafed things that will have to be attacked with a spade, ugh).
I've made a couple of practice bentos for Maggie. She didn't like nori, but liked the rice it was wrapped around. Loved cheese shapes made with cookie cutters. Liked hard-boiled egg. I'm going to try mini-quiches next, see how she likes those. It's a fun and creative challenge!
