recapping the week
I came down with The Crud last Thursday. Terrible sore throat, runny nose. Soldiered on. When rainfletcher got home from work, I pretty much went to bed and stayed there.
Friday night, my dear old friend velvalynn phoned to say she was in San Diego and to ask if she could crash at our place Sunday night. We said of course she could. Cue frantic tidying. Which means that currently the house is in the best shape it's been in months.
Saturday was the annual Mother's Day luncheon. It was lovely, as always. This year, Maggie got her own meal, and did a great job trying all the various foods. Juanell brought the portable high chair and Ivy sat there and ate her own weight in blueberries. I won a little 4-band radio in the raffle!
Sunday, as noted previously, I dealt with poor Ives. She went through five outfits before I decided to just leave her in her diaper and cuddle her in a blanket. By midafternoon she had stopped vomiting after every feeding, but she kept refusing solid food for a while.
Sunday evening we had a lovely visit with Velva and chatted long into the night about dance and kitties and her new job.
Not unsurprisingly, rainfletcher came down with The Crud on Monday.
I'm now frantically sewing my corset for ren faire. I stalled on it for months and months and--again!--here I am at the last minute giving myself quilter's finger to try to get it finished. It looks really cool though.
