I sincerely hope that you all watched the women's Olympic marathon today. It was the gutsiest, most inspirational race that I have seen in a really long time.
The Romanian woman who run took off HALFWAY through (for those of you not familiar with marathoning, that is really, really early to start to pull away, especially with a field of world-class, record-holding athletes) actually won! She is 38, the oldest woman to win Olympic gold in the marathon.
NBC would cut to a view of the course from a helicopter and you couldn't even see the chase pack.
Absolutely incredible.
