Ah, schoolin'.

Things are looking hectic for this year. I have to spend $400 on software for my art classes, the first of which has already presented me with a doozy of an assignment. I also need to pick up what looks like an entire carload of supplies (which I'll probably pick up tomorrow after Japanese). It looks like I'm going to need to start the old practice of weekly to-do lists to keep track of everything; I've only had three classes, and I already don't remember what I have to do when! I may or may not be working in the Scene Shop this semester (I hope I can, though; it'd be nice to make back some of that $400...). Blah class-stuff. I'd rather be learning Lojban, teaching myself to cook, and doing some reading on the side. But I have good friends and good times here, and the good times are the important part, right? Balance of unfun times to make up for the good things? Yin and yang, yes? Tattooed on my foot = important, perhaps.

Speaking of which! My tattoo has done its weird peeling-early trick again. I think it's in a more confined area this time around, but one can never be sure. I'm thinking that this time I'll just let it slide for a while and see how I feel about it once I'm well and truly sure that it's done healing.

I had one of my English classes, and my first impression was one of distaste. I don't remember whether I was very excited about the English classes when I signed up for them, but I have no idea why I'm in them now. Intro to Fiction, the one I had today, looks pretty okay; 50% of my grade is two papers, 4-5 pages each. (This means there is very little time that actually needs to be devoted to Fiction, which is Okay.) I still don't know about poetry, not having had a class yet, but I keep thinking "Well, I have three whole weeks to drop a class without consequences..." and given my crazy art schedule (10 hours a week on projects is not at all uncommon), it might be a good idea to lose one of those Englishes. Also, I need to do paperwork to drop my Math major sometime. and I keep thinking that more programming classes would be fun...woe is me, the eternally Undecided.

Also! Also! Also! My room is a castle. Castle Peabody, we've been calling it. There's a single next door to us, and originally there was a bathroom or something connecting the two. But that's been sealed up, and is now our second closet! It's big enough that people in the past have used it as an office or sleeping area, and now Alex and I have all our clothes, extra bedding, miscellaneous supplies, and my bike in there, with plenty of room to move around! The other, normal closet is being used as a pantry. No go on the futon, as folding chairs save space and are much more convenient for all involved parties. But there are games here and friends nearby, and I think things will settle into a kind of pattern in the coming weeks.

Oh oh! Kathee is coming over! Gotta jet!
