After 3 years of drawing a blank, poetry has re-entered my life in the form of haiku.
car vs. bike
ice caps are melting
convenience subdues conscience
cash flows more than sweat
solo
alone in the woods
a pronoun loses meaning
gender disappears
malapropism
"can't" means unable
"won't": the conscious choice not to
do not confuse them
And for the food industry...
the 6th commandment
could you take a life?
try 20 million a day
detachment is bliss
CAFO (concentrated animal feeding operation)
production unit
concrete floor beneath your feet
your sky, fluorescent
battery cage (in inches)
eighteen by twenty
five hens, unable to stretch
shit falls from above
dissasembly line (defeathering)
nearing the water
electrocution kills some
others are scolded
