Nobody Knows
I just finished watching Kobody Knows. a film by Kore-Eda Hirokazu. It's a Japanese movie with english subs, and all i can say is...omg. I'm not sure what its with me and sad movies, but this is seriously...a sad movie, and probably my favorite foreign film. Definately, my top 3 for this year. You have to watch this.
It's about a family of four children, the oldest boy being 12 years old, and were abandoned by their mother in Tokyo. Their mother ran away with a man, and with the little money that they have, the boy tries to keep his family alive.
The boy, Yagira Yuya won Best Actor at the Cannes Film Festival 2004 for this movie.
and the movie won the Gold Plaque award at the Chicago International Film Festival 2004.
If you want to watch a movie that will seriously move you to tears, you gotta see this...but its sad :(
