jay-z has this song on the black album. it's called renegade featuring eminem. from this song i can conclude na kinain ng buhay ni eminem si jay-z sa song na to. he outclassed him. funny thing. i only knew about this song from nas. nas sang this jay-z dis song called ether. i wikied the song's history and i read about the beef they had nung 2001. prior to this i knew nothing about it. same thing with nas. i only listened to nas cuz of lupe fiasco. nung uso pa si lupe nun he gave props to nas' "it was written" album.
oh oh im also tripping on q-tip's breath and stop. bigla ko naalala si mia and how see seemed to find this song incredibly catchy back in the day. aliw na aliw siya nun. hieroglyphics used the line breath and stop in their song soweto featuring goapele. i only listened to it cuz i liked the stuff of goapele.

the krazykyle vid with karylle singing the catchy chorus is pretty interesting. i think they have all the elements of a good hiphop song in there. the message about tribute to his mom resonates especially since it's in tagalog (Pilipino.) i dont think sisikat cya masyado though.
the problem is the video. it's shot in a way that's "american." for me the images don't translate. it looks like a cheap attempt compared to the u.s. versions. but that's not the vid's fault kasi mas big budget sila dun. i think it would've been more effective if they showed something like a montage of their pics with their moms. kahit na stripped down version by a dude who edited it on his mac in a coffeeshop somewhere. wont be as classy but straight to the point and with a "done with love feeling."
but that's just me. im sure their live sets are great. sana i get to catch one someday.

what's your top ten best hiphop songs? kahit sobrang luma na. hell i still think naughty by nature's stuff are still pretty awesome. tska yung westside ni TQ!!! hahaha kahit na one hit wonder si gago you haveta to admit na he still had a catchy song that everyone was into at one point. culture influencing shit yo. tis part of the mass consciousness hehe
