I want to be able to sing along to all the songs by the time they release the DVD

I was wondering if anyone would want to split the cost of a new cast recording--meaning they'll sound the same as in the movie we just saw--of the RENT soundtrack. I don't care if we split it more than 2 ways, but then everyone who chips in could get a copy for a LOT cheaper. I really want it for the car (mainly...), but I think even the discounted ( Read more... )

Do you still want me to burn it for you?

You had the new cast version already? I thought yours was the original--close enough, but I was thinking I liked the new Joanne better.

But if you do, then that'd be great, sure. Otherwise, I'd like to see the original RENT, just to compare. How did it change?

They cut out several songs and Joanne and Mimi are different actors, but otherwise it's pretty much the same. There are a few more instrumentals and the rock is slightly heavier. Plus some of the lyrics are slightly different, based on what they had to change for the setting and time sequence.

Well I definitely LOVED Rosario as Mimi, so I'd say stick with my original plan: SEE the old version, [buy or] BURN the new soundtrack.

Is there a way you could burn it by tomorrow? It's okay if you can't, I'm just really looking forward to listening to it on the way to and from work tomorrow...

Who/what part was your favorite in this one?

I can have it for tomorrow, probably.

Hmmmm....Roger was definitely my favorite as far as sheer hotness goes - "dripping with charisma." But I really like Mark, cause he's crazy and so cute and nerdy and he does funny stuff and it makes me laugh when he dances. I also love Angel and Collins together. I can't decide!!!

My favorite part was either La Vie Boheme, One Song Glory, or the part where Roger threw Mimi out of his apartment. Without You was soooo sad but so adorably cause it showed how Roger loved Mimi but was trying to get her to stop doing drugs. I definitely cried in that song. I don't know!!! So many things to choose from....

Pretty much I just love the whole movie. What were your favorite parts/people?

Mimi was by far my favorite, but I liked Mark, like you said--I loved his rap-esque part in La Vie Boheme the best, I think--and Angel grew on me to the point where she may be tied for second. Idina's fake speaking-voice for Maureen kind of got on my nerves, though.

My favorite parts were probably Out Tonight, Take Me or Leave Me, Today 4 U (the dancing & everything), I'll Cover You, and Your Eyes (because I cried at that part). Basically, that WAS the whole movie. Oh, and I can't forget Seasons of Love. Duh.

I am so obsessed with that movie right now it's not even funny. I tried watching Phantom of the Opera again to get a different song stuck in my head, but I still keep 'howling' and singing "please take me... out tonight. i'll let you make me... out tonight...". Sheer love.

I KNOW!!! I've had that song stuck in my head for days - along with Seasons of Love and Santa Fe (which I also loved, on the Subway). So, even though I can't sing it at all, I've definitely been howling all over the house. It rocks.

That is seriously like my favorite movie of all time. It made me laugh, cry, clap, and it's a musical. What more could you want?

And you should check out my myspace page starting tomorrow if you'd like to embed Out Tonight even further into your brain.. because that sucker's going to be my music video.

CHA-- it rocks, I love it, and I'll probably be sitting there for hours watching it over and over again on my own page.
(haha. hopefully that was sarcasm.)
