growing up

So... update time.

Kirsty and I went house-hunting in Manchester this weekend. We decided instead of renting a house and lining a landlord's pocket, we'd get a mortgage

A FUCKING MORTGAGE!

The house is really nice, and I'd love to live there. We sat down and worked out how we could afford it. We realised that if I earn as much as Kirsty does now (about £5.70 a hour) we could JUST ABOUT afford it. We should get a good deal, it's meant to be £150,000 but someone bought it then pulled out so it's 2k cheaper. And because Kirsty's dad is a property developer we get an 'Investor Deal' (read: bullshit) so we should get it for about £122k ... Which is cool. I haven't freaked out yet, it hasn't really hit me yet.

I am bob sets fucking fire. I'm not responsible, I can't have a mortgage!

It's weird. If we want it, we have til about Wednesday to find a deposit (one thousand pounds) and then put down 10% 28 days later (that's approximately £12k, for you non-maths kids)

So, here we go trying to find money.
