The Current, from Minnesota Public Radio, has a thing through which listeners may suggest a set of three songs to be played at noon every week day. Back in December I spent the better part of an hour or two researching this set. And today it was on the radio! I didn't get to listen to it, as I had class at noon.
I wonder if anyone here did:
My 3 Songs 01/19/09
Eric from Chicago picked this set because.. "These three songs are better known in their cover versions than their originals."
Bjork's take on Betty Hutton's "It's Oh So Quiet"
They Might Be Giants' cover of "Istanbul (Not Constantinople)" as originally performed by The Four Lads
Carl Perkins with the original "Blue Suede Shoes" as made famous by Elvis Presley
